The Source has taken a critical step in its expansion into Southeast Michigan with the hiring of Kelly Blakeslee as regional director. Kelly will be responsible for guiding the regional hub’s strategic direction and will lead the team that serves The SOURCE’s Southeast Michigan employer network. She will cultivate strong employer relationships and community partnerships and advocate on behalf of SOURCE employers, clients, and all working families in the region.

Kelly brings more than a decade of experience in organizational consulting, workforce development, cross-sector partnerships, and leading multi-disciplinary teams, most recently as manager and consultant at the Autism Alliance of Michigan. In this role, she was responsible for the national, state, and local community partnerships that fueled the Autism Alliance’s ability to meet the needs of those it serves.

“Kelly’s brings the expertise and connections we were looking for in a regional director,” said Alison Freas, President and CEO of The SOURCE. “She understands the needs of the local employers, holds relationships with the community partners and policy makers who will help us make an impact for our clients, and is a proven leader who will build a high-performing team in the region. We are thrilled to welcome her to The SOURCE.”

“My career has centered on helping individuals navigate complex systems to sustain meaningful employment and participate fully in their communities, which directly aligns with The SOURCE’s mission,” said Kelly. “I am excited to join a team that values relationship-building, collaboration, and real-word impact and I look forward to building The SOURCE’s presence in Southeast Michigan.”

After more than 20 years serving West Michigan, The SOURCE is expanding to Southeast Michigan with support from its anchor partner, Corewell Health, as well as the Detroit Regional Workforce Partnership and the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity.

The organization is actively recruiting for a resource navigator to join the team. To learn more about the role, or to inquire about joining the organization’s employer network, reach out to info@grsource.org.
